I live way up in central/northern Aroostook County and as far as I know I am the only person practicing druid rituals up here. I would like to know if there are more but am content to be a solitare. I am in the process of creating a solitary ritual for the upcoming Samhain holy day. I am creating a ritual using local materials like a wine brewed here locally, water from local sources, local bread, grains, etc. I wish to honor the local spirits of the woods in my "back yard" instead of some far off distant land. I am a member of ADF (Ar nDraiocht Fien) to whom I am getting a lot of my core material from. The only contact I have close by is with a druid grove down in southern Maine who also has been most helpful. I wouldn't mind finding other druids here in Aroostok County if they wish to come out of hiding a little.
I have always loved Celtic shamanism and the druid path. Though I myself do not call myself a druid or a Celtic Shaman, but simply a creature and child of the universe. I am located in Littleton, just outside of houlton. I'm about 1 or 1.5 hrs south of you. But I'm willing to participate in sabbaths, drumming circles, full moon rituals, healing circles... so on..
My friends up here in Caribou are into all of that kind of thing and I assist when ever they need an extra body to fill in at a corner or something. I only celebrate the Druid High Holy days such as Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane and Lughnassa. I celebrate Yule with my friends at the solstice. We usually celebrate that at the Unitarian Universalist Church here in Caribou down in the basement. Samhain and Beltane we are starting to celebrate at my place because I live outside the city limits and have plenty of woods and acreage. Reverand Liomsa presides over all of those things you mentioned with his group in Presque Isle. The reverand is attempting to set up some things through the UU church here to use the facilities. They meet usually every Sunday or so. You are more than welcome to come up to either Presque Isle or Caribou and celebrate with any or all of us as you wish.
Our next celebration is tentatively set for Saturday August 15th where we will try to celebrate Lughnassa with games for the kids and adults, a barbecue with moose meat and pot luck and lots of irish music. As for any rituals, I might try to work something out for myself as I am the only one of the group here with druid leanings. My friends are more shamanists and Wiccan. Although they may want to do something, I don't know yet. As for your age, don't worry, I am the next to the oldest of out of our merry band and there is quite an age gap between myself and the rest. They are in their 30's so you won't be too young for anyone. If the date changes for some reason (like rain) I will let you know. Otherwise if you decide to come let me know and I will provide directions.
