Harping Again!

Harping again!

Kindred Harps will be having a concert here in Houlton on September 14th at 3 pm at the Congregational Church on High Street. We have an eclectic mix of music and this is our first concert actually in Houlton! (That is, a concert that is just the five of us. We aren't used to playing in such a small group!)

If you want directions, let me know, it is easy to find.

Great Day at the Fair!

"Love and stand fast with those around you; in shared purpose there is power. The word of the day is kindred."

Okay, Starwalker, that was perfect! Kindred Harps along with two members of the Heavenly Harpers of Houlton and Border Harmony performed at the Northern Maine Fair for its "Southern Aroostook Day" focus. We had a small but attentive and enthusiastic audience and were treated very well by the staff at the fair. (And we were paid!) This sort of thing could be habit f… Continue

Short Stuff

No, I'm not talking height here! I just don't know how much time I will have here at any given moment, so will probably be post little updates now and then.

The newest big news with me is the fact that a few other ensemble members and myself have officially created Northern Harpsong, a chapter of the International Society of Folk Harpers and Craftsmen. At our second organizational meeting, yours truly was elected President of the chapter. We will be sponsoring an open harp circle for anyone who… Continue

Hi Leigh - thanks for the note about the art quilting. It's great to meet others following the same path. I'd love to see some of your work if you felt inclined to share. Yule blessings to you, Autumn

Yeah!
Actually got the web site up and running. I need to tweek it a little still, but it has a link to our eBay store. It's at www.autumnhollowfarm.com. We're going to open an Etsy shop as well. eBay is evil. :) There's a new fiber arts group that's still in it's beta stage...but it's gonna be HUGE so I hope they give Etsy more business. eBay is such a monopoly! The website is at www.ravelry.com and it's great! They even have groups for pagan fiber artists. I got a pattern for a Goddess shawl there! And there's one with a pentagram on it as well. I can't wait to crochet it! If you send me your official e-mail, I can send you an invite to join the group. There's a waiting list, it usually takes about 2 weeks to get on, but you can view your status on the waiting list and see how fast you're moving up the list. I think you'd reeeeaaallly love this one. Our store is kinda slow right now, after X-mas everyone is broke and things are slow. We only have about 8 autions items up. But I'll be adding more over the next 2 weeks, including drop spindles and rug hooks.
Send me an e-mail to sharonemery1@hotmail.com and I'll get you on the Ravelry list.! :)
